I think the quote, “Literature adds to reality, it does not simply describe it. It enriches the necessary competencies that daily life requires and provides; and in this respect, it irrigates the deserts that our lives have already become.” - C. S. Lewis, means that Literature and reading don't only help develop our brains, but they help make life fun and enjoyable. Literature helps add to the expierience of life. It helps enrich our lives and make it better, and helps make the most boring of lives become fun.
The quote relates to The Wizard Of Oz in man ways. It helps you think outside the box and think of things that haven't already been thought of. When I read the book I can look at whats happening in the book in many different ways to make the book more enjoyable and fun for me to read. If The Wizard of Oz only had one aspect to look at whats happening it wouldn't be as enjyoable for me to read. I think the quote helps by providing me with different outlooks on The Wizard of Oz and gives me different views in which to read the book.
