In the quote,"The best book is not the thought that which it contains, but the thought it suggests; Just as the tone of music dwells not in the tones but in the echoes of our heart." I think it means that the best book isnt about what the book is about but the life lesson that you learn from reading it is most important. When Oliver Wendell Holmes said this he wanted to show that when you read a book the most important thing you should learn is the life lesson the book teaches and carry it on with you for the rest of your lives.
The quote relates to my current book Peter Pan because in my book the story is about a magical boy named Peter Pan who wants to take 3 kids with him to neverland and to fly. But the quote relates to it because it tells me that i should enjoy the book and what its about but when reading i should learn the life lesson of the book and carry it along with me for the rest of my life.
